Your support AI can find the newest policy and still answer the wrong question. Before a policy changes, test two clocks: which rule applies to the order, and when that rule becomes available to the assistant. Here is a fictional retailer. Orders before November first have a thirty-day return-request window. Orders from that date have fourteen days. The business has explicitly chosen order time for this example. An older order must still reach the older rule. A newer order reaches the newer rule. Retiring a policy for new orders does not automatically make it irrelevant to old ones. Filter by the confirmed scope and date before generating an answer. If the date is missing or rules conflict, ask for help. Do not guess. Then check the actual system. A scheduled change may not happen at the exact minute. Verify what the assistant can retrieve, not only what the schedule says. Test the boundary, both order types, and missing information, in new and existing conversations. Record which version supported each answer. Start with one policy and fictional records.
