A convincing demonstration is not an evaluation set for the work your team actually handles. A small set should include ordinary questions, ambiguous requests, missing answers, and evidence that users must not receive. For each case, label the relevant source, acceptable behavior, and claims the assistant must not make. Diagnose retrieval and answer writing separately. Keep some questions out of tuning, and record the versions of documents and settings used for each run. Turn real failures into new controlled cases. Release decisions should follow labeled evidence, including useful abstention, rather than a collection of impressive answers chosen after the fact. Original article explainer.
